2016 yearly deductible for Medicare Part D drug plans
January marks the beginning of a new year – and a new coverage year for Medicare beneficiaries. As a result, the majority of your Medicare Part D patients will be required to meet a 2016 deductible for prescriptions before their Medicare Prescription Drug Plan begins to pay for covered drugs.
Please take a moment to remind your staff about the Medicare Part D deductible for 2016. This will allow them to quickly respond to questions from patients and residents about January pharmacy bills that are higher than normal due to the yet-unmet deductible.
