Don’t let the flu strike you

As summer fades and fall sets in, it's time to think about protecting yourself – and those you work with – from the flu. This is especially true for our Alliance Rehab therapists who are in daily contact with older people who are at high risk for serious flu complications. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting vaccinated each year.

Symbria Rx Services to present AL medication management session at Senior Living Conference

We're proud to announce that two members of the Symbria Rx Services team will be speaking at the LeadingAge IL Senior Living Conference later this month. On Monday, September 29, 2014, Director of Pharmacy Jay Mandra and Director of Client Services Shawna Carlson will present Navigating the Minefield of Medication Management in AL at this important conference focused on the needs of assisted living communities.


Hydrocodone is now a Schedule II controlled substance

On October 6, 2014, the U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) rescheduled all Hydrocodone combination products from Schedule III to the more restrictive Schedule II of the Controlled Substances Act. This change affects all hydrocodone products – including Norco, Vicodin, and Lortab – and has had a significant impact on what is required to dispense hydrocodone products


MyRehab short-term rehabilitation center opens at Lutheran Home

We're pleased that Symbria Rehab therapists serving Lutheran Home are now treating patients in the brand-new MyRehab Center at the Arlington Heights, IL community. MyRehab is a 78-room short-term rehabilitation community for patients recovering from falls, surgery, pneumonia, and other conditions that require additional medical attention after a hospital stay.
