Home Health Insider – February 2025 Edition

Frequently Asked Question of the Month:

True or false? A patient under a current home health episode can receive outpatient Part B therapy services.

False. Patients can only qualify for one benefit at a time, so if they are currently under a home health episode, then the agency must provide all necessary services. Once a patient is no longer under a home health episode, outpatient Part B therapy may be considered. For continuity of care, communication and collaboration between home health agencies is imperative to avoid duplication of services, billing issues, and interruptions in patient cares.

Symbria is committed to maintaining a high standard and level of communication with our clients and employees regarding clinical education, PDGM understanding, patient assessment, home health regulations, and coding efficiency.  As a result, the Home Health Insider was born. In this monthly offering, we hope to provide some valuable information that can foster a quality level of care that meets the needs of the patients that we serve.
